Explosive 6th edition: The World Today, the festival in Saint-Martin

Summer is coming to an end, but the party is just getting started with the 6th edition of The World Today festival! Organised by the Elsass Vibes association, this flagship event of the Alsatian music scene invites you to Saint-Martin for a weekend on August 23 and 24, 2024.

A diverse program to suit all tastes

While The World Today was, in previous years, a purely electronic music festival, this edition marks a turning point with a diverse lineup that will appeal to a wide audience. From local artists to international headliners, get ready to discover a range of talented artists who will keep you dancing all night long.

Among the must-see acts are the group 47TER and the duo Faul & Wad. Other talents like Sans Lactose and DJ Vanou will also be there, promising two unforgettable evenings.

Everything for your comfort: Camping and catering available

For those who wish to extend their evening, free camping is available near the festival, accessible without reservation for ticket holders. The campsite is equipped with food and drink options, so you can make the most of the weekend.

Behind the scenes: The volunteers of The World Today

I had the pleasure of interacting with a group of volunteers who work tirelessly to make The World Today festival an exceptional event.

These enthusiasts shared their perspectives and efforts, giving us a glimpse behind the scenes.

Evolution and diversification

One of the volunteers, Victor, explained to us how the festival, which was originally focused on electronic music, has evolved to include a more diverse lineup.

The goal is to preserve the electronic music identity while attracting a wider audience by adding diverse musical genres. This diversification aims to broaden the spectrum of festival-goers and enrich everyone's experience.

Expected artists

With such a diverse lineup of artists this year, it's difficult to pick a favorite, but the group 47TER stands out in particular. This trio from Bailly, in the Yvelines region, is generating a lot of excitement among the volunteers.

Faul & Wad, who will perform on Friday, are also highly anticipated and perfectly represent the spirit of the festival.

Every artist, whether local or international, is highly valued, and the volunteers ensure that everything is perfect, right down to the dressing rooms.

Activities at the campsite

The campsite, which was a great success last year, will once again offer plenty of entertainment. Expect a variety of activities such as volleyball, trivia games, and other fun surprises throughout the day.

Festival atmosphere

When it comes to describing the festival's atmosphere, the volunteers use three words: energetic, friendly, festive. These terms capture the very essence of what the festival represents and the atmosphere you can expect to find there.

Organization and logistics

This year, 100 volunteers, including 24 members of the association and 8 from the committee, are involved in the organization. Each plays a crucial role, whether it's in choosing the artists, logistics, or decorations. Despite their specific responsibilities, there is strong solidarity within the team, with each member contributing to ensure the festival runs smoothly.

Local artists with a history

Among the local artists, Vernex and Buse have a special history with the festival. They are performing on stage for the 6th time, having been present since the first edition.

Anecdote

A funny anecdote stood out last year: the headlining band "Salut c'est cool" entertained the team by playing the flute for 30 minutes in the car on the way to the festival. This touch of humor showcased the playful and relaxed side of the artists, adding a fun dimension to the festival preparations.

A message for those who are undecided.

For those still hesitating, the message is clear: don't miss this opportunity! The World Today 2024 promises to be unforgettable with an exceptional program and a warm and festive atmosphere.
