Throughout the summer season, you will have the opportunity to meet two new faces at the Villé Valley Tourist Office. Chloé, a seasonal employee, and Alexandre, an intern, are joining our team.
They both share the same desire: to showcase the Villé Valley through its landscapes, heritage, activities, and their own personal favorites. Before meeting them at reception, discover who they are!
Chloé, a familiar face in the Villé Valley
At 19, Chloé graduated with a BTS in Management Support. Dynamic, creative, and always ready to take on new challenges, she joined our team as a seasonal employee.
Originally from the Villé Valley, she grew up there. After completing an internship at the Tourist Office in December, she wanted to return for the summer season. This choice is particularly close to her heart, as her grandmother worked there for many years. Now, it's her turn to introduce the valley to visitors.
What does she appreciate most about her job? Welcoming visitors, interacting with them, and the pleasure of introducing them to the riches of the valley and the products of our local artisans.
Chloe's favorites
- His favorite walk: the heritage trail Following in the footsteps of the Wurzel, whose legend of the little elf fascinated her when she was a child.
- The hike she recommends: the course Mountain vineyard Albé is ideal for discovering the history of the mountain vineyard and its heritage.
- His favorite viewpoint: the hill of Saint-Gilles, for its exceptional panorama over the valley and its castles.
- Her favorite village: Villé, which she loves for its alleyways full of surprises and its playful walk.
- The heritage site she recommends: the castle of Thanvillé, which she finds particularly interesting with its park and the Lilaveronica garden.
- The essential activity, according to her: An afternoon at Aquavallées, perfect for relaxing in the spa as well as enjoying the pools in summer.
And if Chloé had to imagine an ideal day in the Vallée de Villé? She would start with an almond croissant at the Snyder bakery, continue with a walk in the Chirgoutte forest in Breitenbach, enjoy an afternoon at Aquavallées before picking up a platter of sushi at the Wendling restaurant to end the day facing the sunset on the Saint-Gilles hill.
Alexandre, passionate about history and heritage
Alexandre Schaedelin is a first-year Master's student in Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies at the University of Strasbourg, after completing a Bachelor's degree in History in Mulhouse. His thesis focuses on the reconstructions of medieval gardens carried out in museums, towns and castles between the 20th and 21st centuries.
Passionate about history, particularly the medieval and ancient periods, he has been hosting a historical segment on Azur FM for several years entitled One day, one event, in which he revisits a significant event corresponding to the date the show aired.
What fascinates him most is the history of everyday life and of "ordinary people," the kind that tells the story of daily life through objects, habits, and skills. This is precisely what struck him when he discovered the Musée de la Vallée de Villé in Albé, some of whose reconstructions reminded him of his great-grandfather's house.
Outside of his studies, Alexandre has practiced judo for 16 years and is currently working towards his black belt. He also teaches the sport to younger students. He is also passionate about freediving, scuba diving, macro photography, fantasy literature, and arts and crafts. He also participated for two years in archaeological digs at Oedenbourg Castle with Archéologie Alsace.
His internship at the Tourist Office allowed him to discover the world of tourism, develop his interpersonal skills, and share his historical knowledge with a diverse audience. Later, he would like to pursue a career in journalism or cultural mediation.
Alexandre's favorite
Among the many sites in the valley, Alexandre is particularly fond of the walk to the Fairy Rock. As a child, he spent hours exploring the rocks, crevices and natural hiding places that make this place so special.
