Bürkert: a pioneering company in fluid regulation

Bürkert's story begins in 1946. The founder, Christian Bürkert, wanted to develop and manufacture innovative products that met basic needs.

Over time, the company has become a benchmark for the industrial world in the field of solenoid valves.

In 1971, a plane crash claimed the life of Christian Bürkert. However, the spirit of innovation remained deeply rooted in the family business.

Today, the motivation of employees, their talents, their knowledge and their creative ideas contribute to making Bürkert a market leader, thus ensuring the company's independence for years to come.

Bürkert is now internationally renowned in fluid control systems. Its headquarters are located in Ingelfingen, in southern Germany. The company is represented in more than 30 countries and employs over 3500 people worldwide, with five locations in Germany, China, and the United States.

Bürkert Fluid Control Systems manufactures systems for measuring, controlling, and regulating liquid and gaseous fluids. The product range includes more than 30,000 items. Bürkert is the only manufacturer capable of supplying all the components of a control loop for measuring, controlling, and regulating fluids: from solenoid valves to pneumatic actuators and sensors, including process and analytical valves.

The various industries using Bürkert products include the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, biotechnology, laboratory and analytical, medical and dental, food and beverage, water, energy, electronics and semiconductor sectors.

Bürkert's philosophy is based on strong values such as kindness, mutual respect, and loyalty.

Bürkert's subcontractors and suppliers

Bürkert's chosen subcontractors and suppliers are among the best in the world in terms of quality, logistics, and cost structure. Bürkert imposes numerous requirements on its suppliers. They must meet the following criteria:

  • Short delivery time
  • Capacity to supply annual quantities ranging from 1 to 1,000,000 units
  • Zero defects goal

And many others…

The question of ecology in Bürkert's work

Social and environmental responsibility has always been deeply rooted in Bürkert's corporate culture. In this context, sustainability and climate protection are very important themes.

The “203ZER0” project allows Bürkert to focus on different fields of action within the “scopes” in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.

Since 2021, all German sites have been powered by green electricity, which has reduced CO2 emissions by more than 90% in terms of electricity.

The parking areas at the sites are continually being enriched with various electric vehicles, and charging stations are available at all industrial sites in Germany.

Bürkert also buys compensation certificates from a reforestation project certified according to the strict rules of the Gold Standard.

When it comes to new construction, the company takes significant steps for resource conservation, energy savings, supply and distribution.

Currently, an analysis is underway to identify where CO2 is produced and where it can be saved, thus constituting a first step towards CO2-neutral production.
