Nativity Scene Trail - Saint Anthony's Church
The current nativity scene was installed starting in 1963, replacing the old one with its plaster statues. Over the years, these were replaced by carved wooden statues, the work of our local sculptor Bernard Ledermann, the costs of which were covered by the Parish Council and generous donors. All the figures in the nativity scene are made of wood: the Holy Family, of course, but also the angel of the Annunciation, the stable, and the star, not to mention the shepherds and sheep. The structure and the backdrop are set up by members of the Parish Council with the help of volunteers, and the floral decorations are then created by the team of florists.
The old nativity scene has been preserved, and it too is highlighted and illuminated under the bell tower, from where it can be seen from the outside when arriving at the church.
