Cross-border cycle path Villé-Elzach
If in the past an upheaval made two twin mountains out of the same massif, and if the river that flowed around it came to water this fissure, it was to offer us a lush plain, bordered by the Vosges and the Black Forest.
Today the links endure and this 85km cycle path connects the twin valleys of Villé and Elzach.
Besides the diversity and beauty of the landscapes along the way, the appeal of this route lies in its flexibility, allowing you to tailor the journey to your preferences and fitness level. Experienced cyclists can complete it in one or two days, while others can extend the trip into several stages and enjoy a multi-day ride.
From Villé heading east, or from Elzach heading west, the clearly marked trail is pleasant and easy. From west to east, it first follows the Villé valley, then takes the Wine Route dotted with typical villages, crosses the stunning Ried plain, crosses the Rhine, runs along the banks of the Elz and stops at the foot of the Black Forest.
