bourgeois cemetery
The old bourgeois cemetery is located next to the parish church, inside the moat that once protected this area. Now disused, it is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments because it preserves a good number of tombs representative of the 19th century: wrought iron crosses, sculpted stelae.
At its center, a monumental cross is dated 1673. Christ's halo is made up of iron rays, formerly gilded, which recall the crown of Christ's head on the old great cross in the cemetery of Saint Martin.
Following its inscription, the old Villé cemetery was redeveloped with a view to its conservation and enhancement.
