I tried meditation at the Champ du Feu

The Field of Fire at dusk… a few words that intrigue me… but will I enjoy the meditation? Everything remains to be seen. So I'm finally going to dare to try this activity with Valérie Fichet.

The Champ du Feu, situated at an altitude of 1,098 meters, is the ideal place for a walk and to breathe in the fresh air. The sunrise and sunset there are remarkable.

Valérie welcomes us to the Champ du Feu tower to begin the session. Immediately, a few instructions are given: silence and mobile phone in airplane mode.

We first take a small path that leads us to a little wooded area that I find both pleasant and quite secluded. Walking slowly, with relaxed arms, without looking at the ground isn't as easy as it sounds, but as Valérie so aptly puts it, our feet know how to walk!
Being able to listen to the sounds of nature around you is a pleasant sensation, but unfortunately, it's something we don't pay enough attention to. It's relaxing.
A first break begins with a standing meditation session. We need to firmly plant our feet on the ground and clear our minds of any thoughts that come to mind. Valérie's calm and gentle voice is there to guide us.

After this initial meditative period, we return to the ridges, still in silence, and approach the large stones. Arriving in front of these stones, we can draw upon a whole new energy (some people are more receptive to it than others, of course).
Also, the view before us is magnificent, with an exceptional perspective on the surrounding mountains.
I am literally transported somewhere else.

After a second meditative break while seated, Valérie suggested we try walking back barefoot. Some were tempted, others weren't. For me, walking on that grass was a unique experience, as I don't often walk barefoot, and I also found the sensation entirely new. The grass under my feet was soft, like a small cushion, and very refreshing. I could feel the beginnings of the evening's coolness at that moment.

At the end of the walk, we participants share our experiences in a very gentle and natural way, in just a few words. For me, it was about harmony and a return to forgotten sensations.
In the end, at the end of the session, I felt calm and delighted to have tried the experience, which I want to try again soon without any hesitation.

Thank you Valérie!

Last meditation sessions this Wednesday. Remember to register as soon as possible at the Tourist Office.
