The award-winning Christian Barthel estate

269 ​​gold medals and 183 silver medals, out of nearly 1500 wines tasted: this is the result of the blind tasting conducted by the jury of professionals for the "Elle à Table" Wine Competition. A very demanding selection process, therefore, made all the more complex by the quality of the samples submitted this year: by all accounts, the 2018 competition will be remembered as a vintage year.

The Barthel estate, winegrowers from father to son, is a family business. Today, Michel and Clément are at the helm of the operation.
 The estate is located in Albé. Michel and Clément cultivate 10 hectares of vines in Albé as well as in the neighboring commune of Villé. The only mountain vineyard in Alsace, it is classified as an AOC.

Committed to preserving nature and its balance, they cultivate their vines using sustainable farming practices and manage their plots to enhance the qualities of each terroir. The family's passion is entirely dedicated to the vine: cultivation, winemaking, bottling at the Domaine, and direct sales.

Their vineyard also benefits from an exceptional climate, characteristic of a mountain vineyard. It is located on steep slopes and is composed mainly of grey schist.
They produce all grape varieties except Muscat. Their wines are monitored and vinified using modern techniques to obtain distinctive, dry, and fruity wines.
The specialty of the winegrowers of Albé is the Pinot Noir "Rouge d'Albé".
